Buskers earn money by performing in public places, usually outdoors. If a passer-by likes the performance, they may drop money into a hat or a container that the busker puts out.
Buskers perform a range of acts such as dancing, juggling, playing music, pretending to be statues, doing magic tricks, miming or singing.
Some will follow people, imitating the way they walk and their actions. Some will write a personalised poem for you for a small fee.
Buskers are more commonly seen in summer and while most people would say that they are a great asset, that they bring colour and laughter to the streets, or that their music is enjoyable, others think they are a nuisance or that they ought to get a real job.
For full-time buskers it is a real job. They travel around the country and overseas to large busking festivals. There they can compare themselves with others and have the opportunity to gather new ideas for their acts.

I have busked with my saxophone, and i think this is very true allthough when i busked i didn't get booed! It is also very fun when people drop money
I think it would be a good idea but not for a full time job because it relies on luck but personally I would just do it for 1-2 hours
I think that buskers are good for the world as they give people who don't have a good education a chance not to work a KFC. It also in my opinion they are very fun and amuse me when i walk down the street. =)

Pluse you can earn 30$ an hour working at reslustate

most people are scared off buskers beacause they bother people to get money...
But it is quick easy to earn the money if u have a big crowed

I think buskers are good for people who likes to do it or interested at busjering. Busker just do it for fun and they enjoy it but maby not just for the money. I would do busking when im a bit older and it is just to train me to be confident to perform infront of alot of people.

I think bushing is a good thing to do because it makes a day shopping for other people less boring and brings some fun into the streets. It isn't all about making money for all of them it is about going and having fun. It could also lead to them getting a job as a producer of asked to join a band if it is something like that.

I think busking is good and brings flavor to the streets. There are a few buskers who get on your back if you don't pay them but most of them are grateful even if you don't pay them. Some of them are just out there to have fun and I think its cool that they come out to show their talents to everyone.
I beleive that Busking would be a good job while you didn't have a good job aka you have started as a shop assistant and are not earning much as you have not been working for long. Then this would be a good way to get extra cash while using talent you have and enjoy. many people have this as a great job and do it full time this is fine because it is earning money doing something you lovewhich is more than some people get.
It states lots of thinks that could give people ideas about starting to busk and that Buskers can be stereotyped, people often think that buskers are more often shabby kinds. You can ern lots busking. I think that there is busking nothing wrong with busking and that others if they have talent to give it a go!
I agree with buskers because it is a good way of earning money and also they give you entertainment. But I go to my dads work in Otahuhu and there are alot of poor people there and many have guitars and sing song and people throw coins and so thats why I stereotype many Buskers.
I think that buskers are happy people who go out to have fun while making money. They aren't a nuisance, but cheer up the streets and the music is usually very nice to hear on a day at the shops. They are usually nice and don't bother you for money. They aren't badly dressed, but dressed nicely. They are usually very good at what they are doing.
I think that busking would be a good way of life because if you love music and you are good at it you could earn some quick easy money. Busking is also a way to show your talent to the public. But the downside is that the area that you live in doesn't allow busking, you would need to travel far to go busking.
yes i do think that busking would be a good way of life. For example if you're a beggar and you busk if you get money it will be a meal for a day but if you don't and starve you will probably die unless some one becomes nice and donates in some money
I think busking would be an enjoyable job for a short amount of time for the thrill of it. Especially for a person who plays an instrument regularly like me. But when I see buskers in the city I can tell about from the energy in their performances whether they are busking for money or for the fun of it. Busking can make a lot of quick money but i believe a normal job would make a lot more sustainably.
i think busking is a good idea because it is a good way to earn money and bring happiness and cheer to the street. it is also good because younger people can do it two once me and my friend did it and earned a good forty dollars.

Buskers earn more like $500 a week not $20 a week and they don't begg you they they just keep on doing there thing all day while people walk past. They are alsojust normal people like you and me but the entertain people for a living. Would you call Tom Cruise anoying just because he entertains you?
Busking may be good in the summer, but when it hits winter, it becomes a job you can't do and won't keep you going. You will have to get a proper job and something else to do. Busking anoys people on the street and sometimes just walk past them meaning they don't bother giving people money, which makes busking worse and your profit less. Busking can be easy money, but you need a talent to do it and some people don't bother staying out all day showing off there talent.

I agree it would be fun to see the world but you couldn't fool around and be silly because then people wouldn't give you any money. But you do get enough money as you could't get more than a mail man or bus driver(if you have a good tallent).
I think that buskers get paid very little money it shouldnt be for a full time job because you will need to pay for your props if you are a kid and you start busking they are usually doing it for fun and doing it for a bit of profit the adults do it for goood money but they dont usually get it so I think they should get a proper job that pays better but that they should still do it when they have free time just for fun and to get a bit of money and they could teach their kids how to. Buskers who are adults dont always have a job and they are desparate but you can tell if they are only doing it for fun kids are nearly always doing it for fun so they can just go down to the diary and get an ice cream or a video game. sometimes kids go busking on busking day in manukau and they get some water and some treats. Adults who do it full time usually go to huge busking days and their are so many people who are just giving money but you want to go to a place where theirs lots of people but not many buskers so the people give you money.

They are not begging they are entertaing you, and who does it show you can't handle yourself and your money? It doesn't you are just putting on an act and if people like they pay you for your effot.
I think Ryan is wrong with his coment, because it is great fun to go out on a day with from friend/s or just by yourself. You get to go and show off your talent to others or write peoms read something or even be a mime, but somepeople get caried away and pretend to be a statiue. People go out for easy money and gets some cash that you may need. Say you went down to a busy place full of people for 8 hours and you may gain up to $200 or more. that is some easy money and will be fun, because you are doing something that you enjoy. Most people who walk past enjoy the music or the peoms or even the people trying to stand still for ages.

I think this comment is not true most buskers are not begging some do but not many. The ones that don't are normally just playing for the fun of it, to show off talent or to gain an extra few cents. Many passer byers love to be walking and to her music some love to give money because they are supporters of busking or just have spare change, again it is 100% optional to give money to buskers they cant force you to give them money so in all respects it is apsolutly fine to busk. Good buskers will respect what others say, e.g If they are busking out side a shop and shop and the owner requested for them to move to a different place good buskers will move without trying to argue or being rude. Again I personally think busking is perfectly ok!
busking is a good way if you have a part time job like at a diary or mc donalds that in your free periods you can just go outside and start busking and earn a bit more cash so they can save up to buy a new car or a new phone or what ever their buying I used to work for my dad and i sometimes got a bit of cash wen i did it i used to go once a day and do some work and i would save up and get something it is the same with buskers only their doing something they enjoy and are good at and you woulld probably get more money then working with my dad. when i went buskng i got $20 when i went busking for half an hour thats probably double of what i get for 6 hours if you add that that is $240 that is quite a lot.
I dissagree with Afroz, because the people that busk aren't usually people that are poor or are starving, because they are wearing clean cloths with clean shaves and have music instraments or other items and usually just want some extra money to pay for there taxes and other items they use. An average 17 year old earns $12.50 an hour and in 8 hours they will earn $100 an hour, but if you busk you can earn $150 in the day or even more such as $220 in that day and will be doing something you love in your heart and not just sitting at a desk filing papers or at a bank giving money in and out and sitting though pages or at a phone answering calls to people. So at the end of the day what would you rather do.
i think busking is fun and people like to do it because they get to entertain people and they can take a break when ever they like and can eat when ever they fell like it but when you work at a store you have no will and you have to do things when youre told and youre behind a desk looking at paper and doing boring stuff but if you busk youre full of laughter and fun. and it is a big money spinner i get $20 half an hour so that was really good better then spending a day at work looking at boring work and doing paper work.
An average person gets paid $500 a week and a busking can be $200 a day so it depends if you want to be someone and do both which would cause you to do some busking and a job to earn the most you can do.
i dis agree with ryan beacause some of these people havnt got that much money and that so people like hering music well strolling down the road.
i disagree with scott because i don't think they are anoying i think they bring fun to the streets. because you might be having a bad day but then you come across a busker and they start to entertain you and bring some happeniss to your day.

um... i think people moved because of how cramped it would have been and how much disease in the air.
um... i think that they would have moved because they would get no sleep or have a really hard time doing anything that you need silence for because of the amount of people around you in a cramped space and the noise made by them, it would have made it so hard focus. i think that would influence them moving out because they just need to get away and move somewhere they have their own space.
um... I think they would have moved because of the amount of disease in the air and around them, because of how many people are in such a close area as soon as one person gets ill all the others will get ill very quickly because people will infect each other so they will have moved out to help them and their children stay healthy and alive, moving into a place with more room that way there are less likely to get sick and more likely to stay healthy and alive.
um... thats pretty much why i think they moved.
